What action will you take to promote French in your school or community?
One of my goals that I would love to be able to achieve in order to promote French at my school and in my community would be being able to contribute in the creation of large leadership assemblies to bring together francophone youth across the schools of my school board and strengthen the bond between francophone students. In addition, I would also like to be able to work with the francophone community council to create community activities such as family breakfasts or a barbecue that could benefit a charitable organization or even organize multicultural days or shows and concerts organized by the students, which in my opinion could really bring the community closer and promote the French language here in Dartmouth.
My dream is to be able to travel to as many places as possible because this would allow me to enrich my global culture and really permit me to meet as many different people as possible and discover everything the world has to offer.
How do you practice French daily:
The way that I practice French on a daily basis is by regularly speaking to members of my family in French, my classmates and my teachers, listening to francophone music written by various Canadian and European artists and I also quite often find myself speaking to some francophone clients in French while working my job. In addition, I had recently given myself the challenge to change the settings of my phone to French and although it was a little difficult at first, I realized that after doing so my mind began to think more and more in French than before.
In one sentence, tell us why you can’t wait to take part in the 2016 NAYF :
I would have to say that the main reason why I can’t wait to take part in the 2016 NAYF, is because I know without a doubt that I will be able to make life-long bilingual friends just like me from all around the country.
