How old will you be as of August 22, 2016?
16 years old
City and province:
White Rock, British Columbia
What action will you take to promote French in your school or community?
I would like to keep promoting French in my school by continuing the “Francofun” club that was started by Adrien Rebselji ( a former ambassador that is graduating this year). I would like to create an environment in which cultures can be shared inside of the club by utilizing French cuisine and French music.
In addition, because of my experience as a participant in a “concours d’art oratoire”, at a provincial level, I would like to start a club where I could help students prepare themselves for public speaking by working on technique and their level of comfort in front of an audience. Often, students who do not have a French course during the semester of the “concours d’art oratoire” they have more difficulties being able to practice. It is my hope that this outlet will increase the number of students that participate.
I would also like to promote the 2017 Vancouver Local Forum to ensure that more students from my school participate.
My dream is to one day be a host for CBC Radio-Canada (I was inspired to do this after participating in the Jeun’info project this year). I imagine myself moving to France for work. Where I would work for a non-profit organisation that promotes women’s rights and education.
Every morning, I would wake up early to watch the sun rise and I would walk through the park to the pastry shop near my apartment. Where I would order a Nutella and strawberry crèpe and a hot chocolate. After an exciting and stimulating day at work, I would spend the evening cooking and listening to music with friends.
How do you practice French daily:
I practice French daily by listening to the radio, pod casts and French TV shows. I also like to organize movie nights wiht my friends where we watch French movies. To add. I speak French with my mother and brother at home.
In one sentence, tell us why you can’t wait to take part in the 2016 NAYF :
I am excited to meet other students who share the same love and enthusiasm as I do for the French language.
