Moncton is gearing up for its ninth “French for the Future Local Forum” which will be held on Thursday November 3rd at the Jacqueline-Bouchard Pavilion of l’Université de Moncton.

French for the Future is a full day of activities, including a conference, a choice of ten workshops, sit-down dinner, and live music, all “en français”, set within a relaxed atmosphere to encourage French conversations and camaraderie. With a solid eight year background, the organizers as well as French immersion teachers representing the eight schools of Greater Moncton Anglophone East District (formerly District 2) are looking forward to welcome 200 grade 10, 11 and 12 students to the Forum.

Opening conference guests are Mathieu Gingras, who is more and more known throughout Canada as an energetic motivator for high school students, and Mayor of Moncton Mrs. Dawn Arnold. Mrs. Arnold, an Anglophone from Ontario, has been active in the cultural and political scene in Moncton for many years and is an advocate defender of bilingualism.

A variety of workshops will include Music, Education, Improvisation, Law, Health, Social Work, and Social Implication will be offered to the 200+ students. A nutritional sit-down dinner will be served followed by live music by young French artists, which will help keep the day in tune!

At the end of the day, students will reflect on their experience and will be able to share their views on this all French day outside of class.
