PRESS RELEASE
OTTAWA, October 5, 2021- French for the Future is very pleased to announce that the 2021 edition of its National Essay Contest (CNR) has been launched. The National Essay Contest helps teenagers to continue their studies in French after high school by offering them the chance to win a scholarship worth $1,000 to $20,000 in one of our 14 partner institutions.
Starting today, we are inviting all francophone and Francophile students in Grades 10 to 12 (secondary 4 to CÉGEP 1) to write a 750-word French-language essay to answer the following question:
In a future where everything is possible, how will the food we eat and the way it is produced have changed? |
So that every participant can start on the same foot, French for the Future allows teenagers to submit their essays in one of two categories, depending on their eligibility.
French first language: Students studying in a francophone school or speaking mainly French at home.
French Second Language: Students studying in an anglophone school, enrolled in an immersion program, enrolled in a core French program and/or mainly speaking a language other than French at home.
After reading the rules and verifying the evaluation grid for the National Essay Contest 2021, participants have until December 17, 2021, to answer our question. Their essays will be assessed by a panel of independent judges composed of teachers from all corners of the country and the winners will be announced early March 2022.
