HUGHIE BATHERSON

Hughie Batherson is a comedian and public speaker from Cape Breton in Nova Scotia. He started learning French at the age of 19, and since then has immersed himself in acadian francophony in the Maritimes. His anecdotes have the perspective of an anglophone working and living in a francophone millieu and relate the confusion that result from lingusitic barriers. He performed his first standup routine during ‘’Juste pour rire en Acadie’’ and won the chance to perform in front of 700 people at the comedy Festival Hubcap in Moncton. He was then invited to take part in a national “Just For Laughs” tour as part of the Rendez-vous de la francophonie, and since, takes part in several comedy shows throughout Canada.
